Star-TREC is the TEC @LCC (The Early College at Lansing Community College) FIRST® Robotics team. Otherwise known as Team 4294, Star-TREC seeks to impact our team members, as well as the community, by cultivating important skills in engineering, programming, public relation and marketing, teamwork, and leadership through this FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC®).
Star-TREC (Star for LCC’s mascot and The Robotics Early College) was founded January 4th, exactly three days before the 2012 FRC kick-off, with only 7 team members that work along side with team 1504 (Desperate Penguins). Today, the team includes about 12 students from TEC @LCC program and Holt High School, as well as 10+ mentors from Lansing Community College, Michigan State University, Holt High School, and Okemos High School. These Treccies works regularly in Lansing Community College downtown campus, west campus, as well as Okemos High School team 1504's workplace (thanks to Desperate Penguins members for all the gracious and professional helps!).
We hope that through this wonderful experience, we can inspire students to participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and introduce them to real-world application of those subjects.
